CD Projekt RED, developer of The Witcher series, is currently extremely busy. They're gearing up for the release of the third entry into the series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, many fans are asking about the game next on their development line-up: Cyberpunk 2077.
In an interview with Game Pressure, CD Projekt RED managing director Adam Badowski discussed Cyberpunk 2077 and how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has affected its development.
“We wanted to present a certain vision of ourselves. Such a thing is very important for a company like ours – a company that is both the developer and the publisher,”
“The moment we announced Cyberpunk, we were certainly working on it. Later on, it turned out that we needed help in completing Witcher 3 – lately we have focused a larger part of the team on finishing the game, and after the release we will get back to Cyberpunk. After all, we didn’t announce a release date of the latter, so no one can complain.”
When asked about whether or not players could expect to see Cyberpunk 2077 in any capacity at E3 2015 later this year, Badowski replied with, “This year belongs to The Witcher.” This doesn't completely remove the possibility of Cyberpunk 2077 being present at the June expo, but it does diminish the likelihood of it.
