Like many other games of its ilk, Bloodborne will feature a New Game Plus mode that will allow players to go through the title multiple times at a higher difficulty setting.
For those not in the know, New Game Plus is a mode that allows players to start the game all over while keeping their weapons and stats, and are faced with much greater challenges than their first playthrough of the game. Games like Dark Souls and the German-developed Lords of the Fallen both feature New Game Plus modes.
The game’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, confirmed that Bloodborne would indeed offer the mode in a recent interview with MCV.
“Yes, there will be a New Game Plus mode,” game director Hidetaka Miyazaki said. “We’re having trouble beating it, though,” he warned.
The director did not reveal how the mode would be activated, but it’s safe to assume that the mode will have to be manually activated by the player as extra content like the Chalice Dungeon can be played even after players have completed the main content.
Bloodborne comes out on March 27, exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
