NetherRealm Studios for years had been known for Mortal Kombat. The fighting franchise has been such an iconic hit for the past several decades. However, back in 2013, the studio became known for another iconic IP fighting franchise, Injustice: Gods Among Us. This title was like Mortal Kombat, but we traded the fighters for DC Comics heroes and villains in the character roster. Overall, the result was a massive video game hit.
Within Injustice: Gods Among Us, we get a narrative that features a tyrant Superman. Before the campaign began, Joker managed to trick Superman into killing his beloved Louis Lane. This ultimately causes Superman to snap and force the world into his will. While trying to keep crime down, Batman and his other Justice League members find Superman is causing a totalitarian regime. Players are essentially trying to end Superman’s insurgency with whatever means possible.
As you can expect, it’s an uphill battle, but a journey fans thoroughly enjoyed. It even sparked a sequel to come out. Now a film adaptation of the first game is nearing its release this month. However, we can get a sneak peek of the movie in advance. It looks like DC FanDome, the free digital event being held this weekend, will feature the movie adaptation. The short sneak will give players a taste of the film before its official release on October 19, 2021.
Meanwhile, there are other players out there that are hopeful this won’t be the only Injustice sneak peek to take place. Some fans hope that this event will bring out the announcement of an Injustice 3 video game release. So far, there are only two installments available, and we have no word on if a third game would be coming out. Although, what better way to announce the game than through the digital DC FanDome event?
