In one of the biggest gaming feats that we have ever been witness to, World of Warcraft player DoubleAgent has done the seemingly impossible: reaching level 100 without picking a faction. If you don't know why this is so amazing, let me explain.
DoubleAgent is playing as a Pandaren, a race of panda humanoids that came to World of Warcraft in 2012. Pandaren characters must choose to support either the Alliance or Horde after completing certain quests in their designated starting zone. DoubleAgent has stayed in this area all the way up to level 100, utilizing tasks that grant him extremely small amounts of experience to grow his character's abilities.
If you choose to play as a Pandaren character, this is what is read to you at the beginning of the game:
- You are a Pandaren, born and raised on the mysterious Wandering Isle. While many of your fellow pandaren prefer a tranquil life, the lure of adventure burns in your blood.
- Recently, the Wandering Isle has begun erratically weaving about the world's oceans. The air grows cold and your island home is spiraling towards disaster…
- As one of the most promising of students at Master Shang's monastery, you may just be the salvation for your people. But first, you must complete your training…
It would appear that DoubleAgent doesn't want to be the salvation of his people, preferring to lead a "tranquil life" instead. At any rate, we send out a big congratulations to the dedicated World of Warcraft player and wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
