Valve may have inadvertently revealed the Steam Link, a $ 49.99 streaming microconsole, too early in the GDC floor.
The Steam Link will stream any Steam content from any PC to any monitor, and is capable of streaming 1080p, 60FPS. The Link is equipped with three USB ports, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI out connector, and it’s so tiny most of those plugs fill out the space at the back of the console (with one USB port moved to the side to boot).
Valve seems to have not intended to reveal it early because the device’s storefront page has been taken down. It does seem that the Steam Link will be launching with the Steam Controller, which will be sold separately and also for $ 49.99. Both will be hitting markets in November.
