Mortal Kombat X: Old Roster Rumor Possibly Confirmed, Possible Guest Characters.

March 2, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The roster implies a story that expands even farther than it did in the last game.

Fans are bringing up an older rumor regarding Mortal Kombat X’s roster following the recent story trailer.

The reason this trailer is getting so much attention is it predicted so many characters on the money. For the record, these are the characters revealed in that rumor that have all been confirmed:

·         Cassie Cage

·         D’Vorah

·         Ermac

·         Ferra/Torr

·         Goro

·         Jacqueline Briggs

·         Kano

·         Kitana

·         Kotal Kahn

·         Kung Jin

·         Kung Lao

·         Quan Chi

·         Raiden

·         Reptile

·         Scorpion

·         Sub-Zero

·         Takashi Takeda

Just to acquaint those who don’t know, Cassie Cage is Johnny Cage’s and Sonya Blade’s daughter, Jacqueline Briggs is Jax’s daughter, Takashi Takeda is Kenshi’s son, and Kung Jin is Kung Lao’s descendant.

So, who was in the list that hasn’t been confirmed yet? Interestingly enough, that would be the parents of the aforementioned characters; Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Jax, Liu Kang, and Kenshi. And another unrevealed character, Erron Black.

But there’s even more, as Ed Boon has been dropping hints that he could bring Spawn, Alien, and Predator to the game, probably as DLC. To be clear, no plans may have been finalized on this front, but Ed is certainly indicating interest in acquiring the licenses to make this possible.

Spoilers follow below.

It seems useful to look at the last Mortal Kombat for precedent. As you may know, that game was a reboot that shook up the entire continuity, and at the end of it all, there were hints that another reboot would emerge from the success of Quan Chi’s plans to raise the profile of Netherrealm.

This new game is likely to be just that, and showing that the children of Earth’s heroes take over the fight indicates an even broader storyline than prior.

Mortal Kombat X will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on April 14.
