Halo 5: Guardians is being developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft. We're well into the eighth console generation at this point, and there are sure to be some front runners cemented here over the next year or so. Microsoft, for the moment, lags behind rival Sony while staying just ahead of Nintendo; this is all in terms of sales, of course.
However, statements recently made by Microsoft allude to the idea that one game will be able to turn everything around for the American software giant. A representative of the company made the statement that, "Halo 5: Guardians could be one of the biggest entertainment releases of 2015."
The list of games coming out on Microsoft's Xbox One in 2015 isn't that expansive, but take note of the words 'entertainment release.' Microsoft must have a lot of bets hedged on Guardians being a massive success. They're already claiming that the game will be just as big, if not bigger, than any other game or innovation offered in the market for 2015.
