Final Fantasy 15 Demo: New Screenshots, Cooking, And More

February 17, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Camping is a genuinely important part of the game.

We have new details for you on the Final Fantasy 15 demo, which you will be able to play as many times as you like for a full year.

Square Enix Europe shared more information on the preconditions to acquiring the demo, which may be the same conditions around the world. So, whether you get Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for Xbox One or PlayStation 4, you will get a corresponding code for PSN or Xbox Live in the box. The code can be redeemed as early as launch, but you will need to redeem it by March 20, 2016. Once you do redeem it, the demo is yours to keep forever.

Re; Duscae, it’s a mountainous area with many trees, as well as caves that contain hidden treasure. You are drawn there when Gladiolus hears rumors that finding and taking down a Behemoth can get you a huge reward. Note; Noctis can lose all his HP in battle, but your allies will be there to revive in case it does happen.

Camping is a genuinely important part of the game. Square reemphasizes that you won’t be able to benefit from experience gained in the course of the game until you set camp.

Camping also functions like a minigame. There are set events for when Noctis talks to friends, when players can switch out equipment, and when Ignis cooks. Ignis has his own cooking level, and different recipes that give different buffs. You can find ingredients for these recipes out in the wild, or you can buy them in town. Examples of recpies are Fuwatoro Eggs on Toast, Aepyornis Eggs, and Gighee Ham.

The Final Fantasy 15 demo will be available as part of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be available on March 17 in the US and March 20 in Europe. In the meantime, you can check out the latest batch of screenshots below.
