Mortal Kombat X May See Return of Jax and Sonya Blade

February 13, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Sonya Blade and Jax may be returning to the game.

It’s no surprise that Kitana and Reptile are returning to fight in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X from NetherRealm. The developer today released a new gameplay video showcasing footage of a fight between Reptile versus Kitana. Watch that video below.

In addition to that, we’ve news outside of Brazil that indicates both Jax and Sonya Blade are making a return in the game, if voiceovers from a character named Cassie Cage referencing the two are anything to go by. Cassie is supposed to be the daughter of Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage, two long-time characters in the series.

Cassie can be heard saying “Stay away from my mother,” and “Are you okay, Uncle Jax? Your joints are cracking.” (via IGN)

Neither character has actually been shown off by NetherRealm as of yet, but a character who looks a lot like Sonya can be seen in the Faction War trailer, screencapped below.

Mortal Kombat X comes out on April 14 for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One.
