Kingdom Hearts is one of the most popular game franchises of all-time. There aren’t many franchises that could survive on handheld releases alone after experiencing such success on consoles. The series’ third entry will be arriving early next year, and gamers around the globe are excited.
The guys over at Youtube channel TheGamersJoint are no exception. They’ve been publishing video after video, all pertinent to Kingdom Hearts and the lore within. Their latest video addresses Xehanort’s keyblade, and offers some interesting theories as to its history and creation.
One of the more interesting theories that is discussed in the video guesses that Xehanort’s keyblade might be related to the legendary Foretellers of Kingdom Hearts lore. The similarities of Xehanort’s keyblade can be found in the chimera on the hilt, as well as the eye near the tip of the weapon.
The theory expands at this point, suggesting that Xehanort’s keyblade is extremely old, and has been passed down from user to user. They even take a wild guess and say that Xehanort’s weapon might have a ‘memory’ of its own.
