The original Homefront video game arrived on the scene to fairly mixed reviews. The premise was interesting: defend your country after hostile forces invade it. Many game series like Call of Duty have focused on missions held outside the country or clandestine operations, so Homefront really had an opportunity to make a name for itself. While it might have failed to woo the majority, it certainly achieved its goal in becoming a successful, new intellectual property.
While many have been voicing their concerns that the second game in the series – Homefront: The Revolution – won't ever see the light of day, developer Dambuster Studios has recently released a statement reassuring gamers:
Homefront: The Revolution is still in development, now under our wing at Dambuster Studios (formerly Crytek UK).
Sometimes we get questions from fans if it's going to be another Prey 2 or Duke Nukem Forever. But rest assured that the team at Dambuster is still working hard on the game and it's not going to be vaporware 🙂
Considering the excitement that gamers felt for Prey 2, we're happy to hear that Dambuster Studios is working hard to make sure Homefront doesn't fall to the wayside.
