343 Industries has released a new update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, implying that they may not push through with plans for a beta for the latest update after all.
They reiterate their priorities with the upcoming content update, which are matchmaking time, match search success, and lobby and party functionality. Changes to these systems will affect both the overall online experience and some peripheral issues, such as matchmaking ranking and title specific hit registration.
343 says that this will make the biggest changes to their matchmaking system. Because of this, they are not rushing to put it out, and so they have recognized it would take considerable time to keep working on it.
In the meantime, they will continue to come out with playlists, with a future Team Snipers playlist, as well as a Rumble Pit playlist made out of the Halo 2: Anniversary Rumble playlist. They know Team Double is popular, but they are still working on team creation issues so they can't deploy those yet.
