Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Strikes West, For PS3 And Vita In Q3 2015

January 30, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The mega crossover game of Dengeki Bunko characters promises another easy to learn, hard to master fighting system.

Sega has revealed that they are bringing Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax to the West, for PlayStation 3 and Vita. The game will be released in North America and Europe in Q3 2015.

Dengeki Bunko is a publishing imprint in Japan that specializes in boys’ manga. It is comparable to Shonen Jump. Much like the Shonen Jump games, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is a mega crossover of this publication’s most popular characters, facing off against each other, set in a Sega themed world.  The game is developed by Ecole and French Bread.

So, not only can you match up characters from Sword Art Online, Accel World, Durarara!!, And A Certain Magical Index, you will also be able to face off against Akira Yuki with Pai Chan and Selvaria Bies with Alicia Melchiott, from Virtua Fighter and Valkyria Chronicles respectively.

The game promises another easy to learn, hard to master system. Weak, medium, and strong attacks have pronounced differences in terms of range, speed, and power. There is an assist system that allows you to chain combos, or can be saved as a defensive option. The power bar in this game is called the Climax Gauge, and filling it up gives you the chance to perform Impact Skill attack. You can also use Blast Attacks via Blast Icons to get out of combos.

Are you looking forward to this game’s release? Was there anything you wanted Sega to bring along with the game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
