Dying Light has a Destiny Loot Cave Easter Egg

January 28, 2015 by Jacob Saylor

It’s an almost jabby easter egg.

Dying Light came out recently for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. Many are saying it's one of the best zombie games to come out in a long time. It's got a really innovative day-to-night system that changes how active the dead are. At night, they become more animated and cover longer distances. During the day, they tend to stay a bit more docile, allowing you the opportunity to search the game world and acquire provisions and weaponry.

One player has discovered an easter egg while exploring during the daylight hours of Dying Light, and it's pretty funny – if a bit jabby. It would appear developer Techland is making fun of Destiny, as there is a secret location in the game that displays a message when you visit:

“Your destiny is to build your legend, and get loot.”

This message is accompanied by a recreation of the now defunct 'loot cave' from Destiny. It might be all in good fun, and it probably is. That said, Destiny has been under enough scrutiny as it is.

Check out this video, where Youtuber Gaming Spite walks you through Dying Light's loot cave:
