Rumor: Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy Amazon Listing Leaks Steam Remaster, Releasing January 29

January 25, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

If the listing is any indication, this is a moderate remaster for PC only.

Another rumor seems to have confirmed that Fahrenheit, also known as Indigo Prophecy, is coming in remastered form in a few days, and it's only for Steam.

An actual Amazon listing of the game has come up.  You can read the insert, product descriptions, and system requirements below.

This is the text on the insert:

Interactive Drama ? An intuitive control scheme and spectacular split-screen presentation complement the game's mysterious noir narrative.

Extensive Replayability ? With branching dialog and multiple endings, each playthrough of the game yields a different outcome.

Multiple Characters ? Take control of the narrative through four different playable characters, each illuminating a different perspective of the story.

Cinematic Score ? Fahrenheit features a fully orchestrated [check] score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, famous for his extensive work with director David Lynch.

Uncut version of the game ? Unlike the original North American release, Remastered contains all of the game's original scenes, uncensored and uncut.

Here's the expanded product description:

Guilt is a chilling feeling… Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics, full controller support AND is based on the uncut/uncensored international version of the game. With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalementi, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike. Key Upgrades: • High-definition Graphics — All of the in-game textures have been meticulously recreated in HD for mobile and desktop. • Full Controller Support — Support for Sony and Microsoft controllers for desktop platforms. • Live Graphics Comparison — Players can switch between the updated visuals and the original art assets with the touch of a button.

Finally, here are the purported system requirements:

Supported OS:   [Windows 8, Windows 7]

Processor:   Intel Core i3, AMD A10

RAM:   4 GB RAM

Hard Disk:   15 GB

Video Card:   Radeon HD 4450 / Geforce 8800 / HD 4400

Additional Requirements:   Supported Gamepads: Microsoft Xbox 360 Games for Windows (Wired), Microsoft Xbox 360 Games for Windows Wireless Controller with Adapter

The cover image seems to be a placeholder, but the preview pictures seem to show a very moderate remastering of the game. Textures were recreated, but not fully smoothed out. More importantly, they did not recreate the game under a more modern engine to match up with the quality of 4K, or even 1080p games. This may be comparable to Deus Ex GOTY. The game isn't that much prettier, but the special edition/remaster serves to make the game playable in newer PCs.

The listing also indicates the game is for Windows 7 and 8 only, is published by Aspyr, will be $ 9.99, and will be released this January 29.

Again, remember that this is still a rumor for now, but given that Quantic Dreams dropped a teaser a few day ago, it's highly likely that this is accurate.
