Dying Light Receives Slight Delay For Physical Release Outside The US

January 19, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The online version of the game is still coming to all regions worldwide in January 27.

Techland has revealed that Dying Light will have a small delay at retail in certain regions.

The game is still coming worldwide on digital at January 27, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. However, physical production has a longer lead time, and so they have had to delay bringing it to Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. Of course, US gamers will still get the game on retail on January 27.

If you may remember, Techland had to delay the game for a few months for polish. They revealed on May 2014 that they needed to delay it to February 2015, mainly to keep performance up to expectations while retaining the Natural Movement system. However, just this September, they revealed that they were able to pull that release back a few weeks from February to January. Of course, we just reported on a rumor of another delay coming, but as the developer has cleared up, it is not that big a deal as people were worried it might be.

These release date changes are normal for any game, but one wonders if developers are better served just staying mum completely until the release is actually coming up. What do you think? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Dying Light will be released on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One
