Sony Online Entertainment's Planetside 2 will be arriving on PlayStation 4 in North America this month in the form of a beta, the company announced today on the PlayStation Blog.
Fans in the US and Canada will be able to start playing on January 20th but their European counterparts will need to wait a little.
"We are working on our [Sony Computer Entertainment Europe] beta submission," PS2 executive producer Clint Worley commented."It will be slightly delayed but it is on its way. Once we have a confirmed date we will let our SCEE players know. I would still recommend signing up for the beta via our webpage just to be sure."
It was recently reported that unlike most games, the console version will actually have a significant visual advantage over the PC version.
As a free-to-play game, PS4 owners will not require a PlayStation Plus subscription despite Planetside 2's online nature.
