Nintendo of Europe has stealthily revealed a New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program, hinting at a 2015 release for the console in Europe – and possibly also the US.
Select Club Nintendo members received an email confirming that the console will be coming to 2015, but they can order a New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition bundle this early, to be one of the first people in Europe to own one.
The bundle comes with:
· A white New Nintendo 3DS
· An Ambassador Edition Cover Plates
· Super Smash Bros themed Cover Plates
· A white charging cradle
The special offer is valid until January 12, 23:59 UK time, and fans should get their bundles by January 23.
This announcement comes not too long after rumors that the original 3DS has been discontinued. That console was announced in 2010 and has been in the market since 2011.
Give the age of the original 3DS, as well as the success of New Nintendo 3DS upon release in Japan and Australia late last year, it stands to reason that Nintendo is poised to release the new console to the rest of the world this year. This also matches up with Nintendo’s other predictable habit of coming out with a new iteration in the same generation of consoles every few years.

How long do you think we will have to wait before Nintendo announces the New 3DS for North America? Should they offer an ambassador program for US Club Nintendo members too? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
