Mighty No 9 Is Mostly Complete; Inafune Shares New Year’s Message And New Game Footage

January 1, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Comcept will now be focusing on porting the game across ten platforms, and future marketing.

Keiji Inafune has shared a new message for the new year for fans regarding Mighty No. 9.

Of course, the video has to start with footage of a new stage, and it hints at the high level of challenge the game will have. Beck rushes left towards a series of stationary jumping bots, but also has to contend with a steady stream of laser attacks from the right. Sharp eyes may also notice a drone on the ceiling, that cloaks itself when Beck turns around towards it. If you have ever played Inti Creates work on the Mega Man Zero games, this evokes that level of staggering difficulty.

Inafune then came up to confirm that the game is essentially done. Right now, Comcept and Inti Creates is working on porting to different platforms and starting marketing. Comcept has pledged to make the game for a staggering 10 platforms, including Windows, Linux, OS X, 3DS, Vita, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Inafune also reconfirmed that the game will be coming for sure on Spring 2015. While the game stands as one of the most successful crowdfunds, controversies surrounding a community manager and a second crowdfund for the game’s voice acting, as well as some skepticism on Inafune’s and Comcept’s capability to deliver, have dampened the game’s hype somewhat.

We are sure most of you are still waiting on this game, but how are your feelings on the game with this footage and announcements now? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
