Bandai Releasing High-Quality Yoshi Figure in 2015

December 30, 2014 by Tony Ponce

The third Mario character in the S.H. Figuarts line.

Those World of Nintendo toys? Not bad, not bad. But if you want high-quality figurines with an insane amount of articulation, you're best served by Bandai's S.H. Figuarts line. We already got this amazing Mario figure, and he will be joined by his brother Luigi in a few short weeks. The third character in the set is none other than our lovable mount Yoshi, who will arrive in Japan in May 2015.

True to his in-game counterpart, Yoshi can support either Bro on his saddle. And because Yoshi wouldn't be Yoshi without his ability to consume everything, there's also an attachable tongue accessory. Look at that grin! He's just so happy to be useful!

The Figuarts Mario pieces have been surprisingly well-priced in the States: Mario can currently be snagged for less than $20, while Luigi will retail for $32.99 (though I expect discounts over time). Yoshi is currently 4536 yen (about $38), which makes him a little pricier than the plumbers, but we'll see what the final tag is once he receives his Western release.
