Far Cry 4’s Escape from Durgesh Prison DLC Launching Next Month

December 18, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Time trials and the removal of checkpoints promises to make this DLC more challenging.

Escape from Durgesh Prison, a new DLC for Far Cry 4, will be available from January 13th, 2015, Ubisoft today announced.

The DLC takes the form of a time trial, in which players must race against each other and the clock in order to complete challenges and try to gain a spot atop the leaderboards.

Escape from Durgesh Prison begins with Ajay and Hurk awakening in Yuma's prison after being captured, stripped of weapons, and tortured. With no means to defend themselves, players will need to complete a numer of challenges to discover weapons and gain new abilities – all with the goal of reaching an extraction point which can lead them to safety.

After completing these challenges and taking on side-missions from Pagan Min, players will be ready for a final stand-off against Yuma's forces. To make matters more complicated, when players die you won't go back to the last checkpoint, but will instead need to start the mission again from scratch.

Escape from Durgesh Prison is included as part of the Far Cry 4 Season Pass, and is also available separately for $9.99. The Season Pass is still available for sale at $29.99, which represents savings of 20% compared to buying each DLC individually.

Speaking of Ubisoft Season Passes, those with the Assassin's Creed Unity Season Pass can now pick up their free game which has been offered in compensation for the Pass's cancellation.
