For horror fans, the Outlast franchise is something you likely already tried. Unfortunately, this was a hit series that only has two installments out right now. Still, the developers over at Red Barrels managed to craft up a hit that might appeal to horror enthusiasts. While those first two games are already available to pick up right now, we do know that a third installment is coming out. Recently, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, we got a new look into the game.
With The Outlast Trials, players are going to get a slightly different experience. We’re still waiting for details to come out, but you can check out the latest trailer above. This video game brings players to the Cold War era. From what is known so far, the focus is on players being a test subjects. With plenty of horrifying enemies to deal with, this is a game you’ll likely find your heartbeat racing as you play.
That’s how the first two installments thrived. These were games that put players on the edge of their seats. It’s all about carefully moving around the game and expecting plenty of jump scares for a quick thrill. Jump Scares are likely what you’ll find in this upcoming installment, but again we’re waiting for the game mechanics to get showcased. So far, this is just another teaser to give a slight look into the game. Unfortunately, it’s not a game you’ll be able to get your hands on this year.
While originally The Outlast Trials was slated to launch this year, it’s since been delayed. We’re now finding the game has been pushed to a launch sometime in 2022. Likewise, this title will be launching for the PC platform. Currently, we have to wait for a specific release date to come up regarding the game outside of the 2022 launch window. For now, you can check out the latest trailer for this game in the video embedded above.
