This is a guide on how to negotiate and buy influence in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Farris the Representative, in Skyhold, is the person to go to when it comes to trade related contracts. Every contract gives you +1 Power, as well as a flat bonus to Influence. However, some contracts are better than others, and knowing which is which is the difference between wasting your time and getting farther along in the game, and doing so faster.
Contracts come in four tiers:
· Tier 1
· Cost: 167g
· Influence: 150
· Influence per gold: 0.90
· Power: +1
· Tier 2
· Cost: 490g
· Influence: 300
· Influence per gold: 0.61
· Power: +1
· Tier 3
· Cost: 1690g
· Influence: 1500
· Influence per gold: 0.89
· Power: +1
· Tier 4
· Cost: 6886g
· Influence: 3000
· Influence per gold: 0.44
· Power: +1
As you may have figured out on your own, you get the most value for money back from all the Tier 1 contracts, followed by Tier 3 contracts. Tier 1 gives you more Influence and Power, while Tier 3 provides the same value for Influence.
Each Tier has 50 contracts overall, so what you’ll want to do is prioritize buying Tier 1 contracts, followed by Tier 3, Tier 2 and Tier 4. In situations where Tier 1 contracts are not available, choose to get Tier 3 contracts instead. Without discounts, buying all 50 Tier 1 contracts will net you 7500 Influence and 50 Power for only 8350 gold.
