Unlike your typical war simulation, you aren't engaged a brutish power fantasy, running from battle scene to battle scene while mowing down everyone you see with wanton abandon. Instead, you are viewing the action from the eyes of the people caught in the crossover, and they simply want the madness to end. As of today, you'll be able to check it out for yourself.
You can purchase This War of Mine for $19.99 from either from Steam or Games Republic. Above is the launch trailer, which sets the tone for your tale. What's not conveyed in the video is exactly how the game plays: You'll take command of randomly assigned civilians in a nameless beseiged city. You'll have to survive by scavenging for food and supplies, finding shelter, dressing wounds, and avoiding sites of conflict.
It will definitely make you think differently about so-called war games.
