Resident Evil has been quite the interesting franchise. While it is definitely scary, I personally feel that it sometimes utilizes 'tank' controls to make the player feel more awkward in confined spaces. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as many other games use the same trick, but it certainly calls into question some of the scares in game. I know in Resident Evil 4 I got stuck in a corner going through a house in the first level. I'm not kidding – that actually happened.
Maybe I'm just bad at video games, though.
At any rate, Capcom has published some new videos on the Resident Evil Youtube channel detailing some aspects of Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Each video shows a different element of gameplay: inventory, movement, changing characters, shooting, melee and some others. While there's nothing too groundbreaking or amazing here, it's a pretty good look at what's next for the series. Not only that, but you'll get to learn a bit about those game controls, so you can prepare yourself before the game's release.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is slated for early 2015 on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Considering the lack of news regarding the title, we wouldn't be surprised if we saw the game delayed just a few months or so. Though, Capcom is a pretty great developer. It's entirely possible that they meet the schedule deadline.
We're excited to see what Resident Evil is capable of on next-generation consoles!
