Dragon Age 3: Inquisition: Low And Ultra PC Settings Compared

November 12, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

This comparison reveals the game performs well under Low settings, but shines graphically on Ultra.

This is a graphics settings comparison for Dragon Age 3: Inquisition.

Our source video comes from Candyland, who you can follow on YouTube here. The video is no frills about drawing comparisons between what the game looks like under low and ultra settings on PC.

As you can see, the performance boost for Ultra PC is definitely noticeable. Bioware took advantage of the power of newer computers, eliminating anti aliasing and other effects where 4K and higher resolutions were available.

However, it should also please owners of older PCs that the game works find on lower PCs as well. In fact, in most cases, the differences between low and ultra settings is negligible. As is often the case you would have to go out of your way to look for them to see them, and unless you are obsessive about these details, you will not notice them in the middle of gameplay.

Slowdown is also noticeable under low settings, but the game still seems very much playable. You should not feel any disadvantage in the actual game, since it is not just your character, but the whole game that moves slower on low than on ultra, and the difference in speed is not gamebreaking. Still, there is no dispute that if you can use them, ultra settings is the way to go.

Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be released on November 18 on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
