In what stands to be a series of the most retarded decisions I've ever heard of, Blizzard has decided that instead of attempting to prevent people from making money off their game, it would be better to just help them do it. To that end, Diablo 3 will have a player-driven real-money auction house, which is sure to surge the ranks of idiots buying virtual axes for thousands of dollars – of which Blizzard takes a cut , of course.
Additionally, Blizzard has announced that like World of Warcraft, they will have a complete zero-tolerance policy for mods with Diablo 3, not allowing PC users to modify their game in any way. I find that hilarious. I wish them luck in actually enforcing that ridiculous policy in this case. WoW is one thing, but Diablo? It'll be circumvented in a week.
Finally, and probably most controversial, Blizzard has decided to go the way of Ubisoft and require a connection to the internet for players to play Diablo 3, even just through the Solo campaign.
Blizzard believes they have justifications for this, which you can read at the follow-through link to PC Gamer.
Thanks, PC Gamer!
