Activision appears to have blocked Share Play for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players on PlayStation 4.
Share Play is a feature exclusive to PlayStation 4 that will allow you to essentially share a copy of your game with a friend when you play multiplayer. When you are both online on your PlayStation 4 consoles, you can open your game, invite your friend, and they will be able to play, just like if you were in the same room.
Share Play is a cool feature, but some developers did not go on board with this, so it will be a feature available on some, but not all games.
Activision originally announced that they would be blocking Share Play for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare across different regions, but the video above demonstrates failed attempts to use the feature on the same region.
A reddit has appeared on the issue, with several users corroborating the same issue. One claim is that Activision is using the block scene feature, originally intended to block screens with personal information or spoilers, to block the game completely.
Activision and Sledgehammer Games have yet to comment on the issue.
