Battlefield Hardline Release Date Confirmed, Hotwire Trailer Released

October 29, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The game may seem fun, but EA seems to stay careful when it comes to the game release.

EA has revealed that Battlefield Hardline will be coming March 17, 2015, for Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. They also released a new trailer showing off the game’s multiplayer Hotwire mode.

Hotwire mode is an exhilarating experience, seemingly more elaborate and with more options than the average game car chase, like, say, the Overpass Escape scenario from Payday 2.  You chase each other across long stretching roads, and in and out of shallow waters, shooting at each other the whole time. You can switch from cars to motorboats and helicopters, and you can even use explosives to even the odds.

Ultimately, Hotwire is all about teamwork, as you have to play either the fuzz or the mob, and the only sure way to get an advantage is by working together to take out the other side. This trailer promises the most epic encounters when you get out to play the game.

The game certainly seems fun, but this delay to the tail end of Q1 2015 seems called for as events in Ferguson continue. While the controversy left the spotlight, it definitely caused a delay for the game when the initial wave of protests and violence hit headlines.

It is not clear when events in Ferguson will finally die down, and when the community receives the resolution they deserve, but until then, it would simply be bad taste to play or promote a game, or any media, that prominently features the police as Battlefield Hardline does. You can rest assured that EA is aware of the delicate situation, and are mindful of what would be appropriate to the occasion, balancing the interests of their fans, developers, and other stakeholders.
