Call of Duty is quite the popular video game franchise. Each year we get a brand new installment to enjoy. However, you might have another reason to pick back up and enjoy last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It looks like we can expect a new deception-based game mode coming out in season 5.
Season 5 kicks off for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on August 12, 2021. This will add some new content into the mix to hopefully keep players enjoying last year’s installment a bit longer. However, if you moved on from the game, then this Double Agent mode might sway you to make a return back into the game. Here the game consists of 10 players where you’ll either be a double agent, an investigator, or an operative. Throughout the game, players will either need to discover who the double agents are or take down the rest of the non-double agent group.
Overall, double agents can take out players. Otherwise, the main goal is to set charges across the map. Meanwhile, investigator players can see footprints of an attacker from a dead body. Likewise, these investigators can actually issue what players they are finding to be suspicious. Lastly, some operatives are simply out to identify who among them are the double agents. Voice chat is encouraged throughout the game, although it should be interesting to see how it’s incorporated in this game mode in particular.
At any rate, we won’t have to wait very long before we get to jump into season 5. Meanwhile, fans are also waiting on new official announcements to come out for Call of Duty 2021. The last we have heard actually came from an Activision earnings call. It was noted that Call of Duty 2021’s setting will be familiar to fans during the call. Most expect a return to World War II, but we’re waiting on the official reveal again.
