Destiny: The Pixel Art Animation Parody

October 21, 2014 by Tony Ponce

LoadingReadyRun highlights Destiny’s many, many problems.

Who doesn't love a good demake? It's fascinating to see a popular modern game re-imagined in order to run on older hardware. Remember the Commodore 64 demake of Watch Dogs from earlier this year? Good stuff, right? Bungie's Destiny is the big new game on the block, so comedy crew LoadingReadyRun decided to give it the throwback treatment as well.

Or at least, that's what you may think when the video first loads up. Instead of presenting fake gameplay footage of a long-lost version of Destiny, the video instead pokes fun at the various story holes and gameplay hiccups that gamers have suffered. No Loot Cave is spared.

Personally, I think the voiced dialog, while mildly amusing, brings down the entire animation. I would have much prefered a straight-up pixelated homage as with the Watch Dogs example. Still, Destiny fans ought to get a kick out of it.
