Hyrule Warriors to Get amiibo Support

October 21, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Seems like only the Link amiibo is confirmed to be compatible.

A boatload of DLC is not the only new content in Hyrule Warriors' future. Nintendo has just announced over Twitter that the Zelda-themed hack-and-slash will also receive amiibo support.

There isn't much information at this time. All we know presently is that only the Link figure will be compatible, but I don't see why Zelda, Sheik, and Ganondorf wouldn't be brought on board eventually as well. Obviously, none of the other currently announced amiibo figures beyond those would be appropriate for this game — as much as we'd like to see Pikachu or Kirby mix it up on the Hyrule battlefied.

There's also no word yet on when the compatibility will be added to Hyrule Warriors, although we can safely assume that it will be after Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the first amiibo-supported game, launches on November 21.
