Destiny: The Vault of Glass 5th Chest Location Guide

October 9, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

There are very particular conditions to getting the fifth chest to spawn.

This is a guide on how to get to the fifth chest location in the Vault of Glass in Destiny.

This fifth chest is close to another one in the Templar’s Room. When you find a hole in the wall, you can go in, seek out a hole in the ground, get even deeper underground to the caves, and find the original chest.

However, there is another set of hidden caves, again found via a hole in the ground. Inside this cave, you will find a platform, and it is on that platform that the chest will spawn. The trick is, the chest does not always spawn there, so many players missed it. Making the chest spawn hinges on the Templar fight you had earlier aboveground.

In the Templar fight in this stage, you usually use a Relic to get a Templar’s shields down, and keep striking it until it teleports. However, if you go and step on the teleportation device, you can stop the Templars from teleporting there. The trick is to keep the Templars from teleporting completely.

So, this is a team effort, as you and your teammates need to be in place on where all the teleportation locations are. You will need more than three players, so this needs to be coordinated between teams.

Once this is in place, it’s a matter of defeating the Templar completely. The good thing is the Templar can’t raise its shields again if it can’t teleport.

From there, it’s just a matter of going all the way down to the chest location.
