Grand Theft Auto 5 PS4 Digital Preorders Rewarded with Extra Online Cash

October 8, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

The PS4 version of GTA 5 features a strong argument for your money.

I've never been particularly fond of game remakes, especially when there's no new content being added. I understand the graphics might improve a bit and there will be some other minor improvements on the technical side, but when it comes right down to it, you're buying into the same experience as you did the first time around. There are exceptions to this rule, and titles like Grand Theft Auto V are certainly within those bounds. Simply spending time in the game world is a pleasure.

Rockstar Studios, who develops the game, is looking to persuade you with more than just enhanced visuals. Gamers who buy into a preorder of the new generation GTA 5 will be gifted with around $1,000,000 in-game cash. This money will be split evenly between your account's multiplayer and single-player portions. That's quite a hefty amount! For players who are smart with the in-game stock market, $500,000 should be more than enough money to invest and expand upon.

However, for those of you picking the game up on Playstation 4 digitally, you're in for even more of a treat. It's been reported that gamers who buy into the PS4 digital version will be gifted with an extra $300,000 for the game's online mode, specifically. While this pales in comparison to the original preorder bonus, you can combine these offers and end up far ahead of those buying into the game on other consoles.

Be warned, though: it's also being reported that GTA 5 will take up quite a bit of space your PS4's hard drive. Rumors indicate that the game will feature a mandatory 50GB install, but this shouldn't change much – if at all – from one console to another. The great thing about digital copies is that you can uninstall them and redownload them whenever you like. Although, shoving a disc into your console isn't that difficult, either.
