Diablo 3 Patch 2.1 has released for consoles.
Most of the features added on the PC version were added for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, but Seasons and Seasonal Legendary items were not included.
There is a new “What’s New” screen that will give an overview of what features will be added with each patch moving forward.
First and foremost are Legendary Gems, a new gem drop that adds powerful abilities to rings and Amulets. The most amazing thing about these gems is that they can be upgraded, as you will see below.
Also added are Greater Rifts, a special Nephalem Rift with specific play conditions. Greater Rifts generate infinitely, with each level harder than the last. When you beat a level, you can choose to press forward, or cash in the chance upgrade their Legendary Gems.
The Cesspools, a new randomized environment, will now be added to the Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts, as a new place to adventure in.
There is also a new randomly accessible realm; the Vaults, the domain of the Baroness Greed. These portals do not appear in the Nephalem Rifts or Greater Rifts. Instead, they can only be accessed in Adventure Mode. The portals to the Vaults appear randomly when you beat a Treasure Goblin, so you may want to take the opportunity whenever it comes up.
Finally, there is Ramaladni’s Gift, a new item that allows you to add a socket to any weapon, so long as it does not have one. This item can only be used once and drops randomly anywhere in the game.
