Destiny: Exotic Bounty Guide

October 7, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

Destiny’s exotic bounties explained.

Destiny is a tough game to navigate some times. There are a number of nuances that players must keep track of, be it in PvP or PvE situations. Some of the more difficult areas of Destiny appear when you're trying to acquire the game's mysterious 'Exotic' armor or weaponry. One way to achieve Exotic armor and weapons is to accomplish 'Exotic Bounties,' which are extremely rare as well. This makes getting these armaments a two-fold process, which can be quite intimidating to those who are trying to attain their first piece of rare equipment.

We've found a list of the bounties and how to complete each of them here to ease the process. Think of this as your one-stop place for all things Exotic Bounty-related.

A Light in the Dark

The Reward for this Bounty is a Hand Cannon called Thorn. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

  • 1 – Complete the Summoning Pits Strike on the Moon
  • 2 – Harvest the Energie of Hive on the Moon the activate the Weapon
  • 3 – Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible
  • 4 – Bring the Hand Cannon to the Speaker
  • 5 – Cleanse yourself and the Weapon with an Infusion of Light
  • 6 – Bring the Weapon to Ikora Rey
  • 7 – Kill Xyor the Unwed
  • 8 – Return to the Speaker

Explanation to:

2 – You have to kill Hive Enemies on the Moon until you reach 500 Points

3 – You have to Kill others Player in Crucible with Void Damage Weapons (Special & Heavy) and / or with your Void Damage Character Skill. For every Void Damage Kill you earn 5 Points and for every Death you lose 2 Points.

7 – Phogoth must be unchained and alive until Xyor spawns (most Time with the 4th reinforcement Ship). You have to kill a large amount of Enemies in this Step in the Pit.

A Dubious Task

The Reward for this Bounty is a Shotgun called Invective. The Steps to obtain the Weapon are:

  • 1 – Talk to Ikora Rey
  • 2 – Complete a total of 5 Strikes without dying
  • 3 – Return to Ikora Rey

As Example, you finished a Match with 10 Kills, 4 Assist and 5 Deaths, your Counter is now by 9 ( 14-5=9 ) In your next Match you have 5 Kills, 0 Assist and 6 Deaths, your Counter is now by 8 because 5-6= -1. In the next Match you have 10 Kills and 0 Deaths, your Counter shows now 18.
