Like many new-gen sports games, 2K Sports’ latest title NBA 2K15 has a face scanning technology that allows players to scan in images of their own and upload them into the game as faces to use on players.
Unfortunately, the game's face scanning tech isn't very good and results in some truly horrendous looking player characters.
The process to get your face in the game has problems. You're asked to position your face inside a box, wait for it to turn green, then slowly turn left and right for a complete scan–kind of like something out of a science fiction movie. At the end of the process, the system maps out the points on the model, which is presumably more accurate the more points of data it has loaded in.
As well as this is supposed to work in theory, the end results aren't always great. Here is a selection of some of the ugliest faces players have managed to produce (many inadvertantly) in NBA 2K15 using the game’s face scanning technology.
