CabooseXBL runs down some new questions aboutBatman Arkham Knight. This includes a new theory on the identity of the Knight.
Caboose believes that Bruce will definitely be coming back to Arkham Asylum, in one capacity or another. A fan asked him about Bruce returning specifically to find Killer Croc or Mr Freeze, in the course of cross examining them on events in prior games. Caboose points out Rocksteady has dropped no hints on this one way or another, but he believes Arkham Asylum is probably where this story ends. It is possibly the setting for the final mission, but one way or another, it is the ideal setting for a tableau so Rocksteady would be foolish not to use it.
Caboose agrees with a fan that it would be cool to see a Batmobile boss fight. While a Batmobile vs Arkham Knight helicopter seems unlikely, the Arkham Knight could duel with Bruce using a mirror Batmobile of his own.
Scarecrow wants Batman out of Ace Chemicals, and a fan ponders if this is because this is where Bruce will encounter the Joker. While the canon has been frequently modified, in some stories, Joker was born in Ace when he fell in a vat filled with a chemical that disfigured his face and drove him insane. When Bruce enters Ace, he may start hallucinating the Joker attacking him. Caboose argues this would be the best way to use Joker, considering his ersatz voice actor, Mark Hammill, is preoccupied, and he himself has died in the Arkham canon.
Finally, Caboose fields a question about the Court of Owls being involved in Batman Arkham Knight. In fact, what if Bruce’s brother Owlman is the Arkham Knight?
Thomas Wayne Jr, also known as Lincoln March, is the sixth character to use the name Owlman. He was raised by the Court of Owls to become an anti-Batman of sorts. As a result, he is also a trained fighter and tactician, has his own fortune, and has his own costume. The comics have muddied the storyline on purpose, so depending on who you talk to, he may either be Bruce Wayne’s biological brother, or brainwashed by the Court to believe that he is. You can see a picture of Owlman below.
Many of the things that describe Owlman can also be used to describe the Arkham Knight. Heck, if this were the case, the question of Arkham Knight’s source of funding and motivations will all be explained in one fell swoop. Arkham Knight’s costume isn’t that far off from an Owlman costume either. While Jason Todd seemed a very likely candidate before, Owlman is just as good, if not more so.
Batman Arkham Knight will be released on June 2, 2015 on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
