Wasteland 2 Sells $1.5 Mil Worth, Discount Also Available

September 25, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

You can grab the new popular post-apocalyptic indie-title for 25% off.

Kickstarter-backed Wasteland 2, the spiritual successor to the original Fallout series, was recently released to relatively little fanfare on the Steam Store. (The game has technically been out as an early access title for a while now.) Almost a week after release, the game has sold around 50,000 copies, which translates to about $1.5 million in revenue – not too shabby for an 26 year belated sequel from an indie studio.

Now that the game has its run on the Steam Store, you can now find the title available at assorted retailers, including GOG, GamersGate, and Green Man Gaming — the last of which will give you 25% off Wasteland 2:

  • Grab Wasteland 2 Standard Edition for $30 (Steam key)
  • or get the Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition for $45 (also Steam key)
  • just use coupon: DEALZO-N25OFF-SEPT14 at checkout

Both digital editions of Wasteland 2 come with a free copy of Wasteland – the original classic. You'll also get Mark Morgan's soundtrack in digital format along with a digital concept art book. The Digital Deluxe Edition steps things up a bit with a free copy of The Bard's Tale along with three digital novellas set in The Wasteland World.

Players hating in-game exclusives will be happy to know the Digital Deluxe Edition of Wasteland 2 is devoid of such incentives. In terms of value, The Bard's Tale retails for $10, so you'll have to judge for yourself if the three digital novellas are worth the extra $5 or so in the price of admission.
