The Final Fantasy 15 demo, dubbed Episode Duscae, will have a lot of driving and dungeon exploration. Along the way, players will learn a lot more about Noctis and his friends.
Noctis Lucis Caelum is the lost heir to the dynasy of Lucis, the last kingdom to control the crystals. In this capacity, he protects the city from marauders who want to take the city and the crystal’s power. Because of a childhood accident, Noctis can see the ‘light’, allowing him to foresee when someone will pass away.
Gladiolus Amicitis is Noctis’ closest friend. He is also Noctis’ protector, as the latest in a family of Lucis royalty guardians.
Prompto Argentum and Ignis Stupeo Scientia are ordinary childhood friends. While Ignis received special education to become a staff officer and consultant for Noctis, Prompto is completely outside the royal circle. A playboy and bad influence to Noctis, Prompto has a chip on his shoulder, but is also eager to help Noctis and his friends.
There will be some freedom in terms of the driving and exploration. You can choose to have Ignis auto drive or take the wheel yourself. Using the car, you can finish the demo in three to four hours, but you can also choose to go on foot if you prefer it.
Square Enix has stated that the demo will not have a boss fight, but there will be a lot of creatures to fight… as well as an unnamed surprise.
Surprisingly, it turns out the Final Fantasy 15 demo does not have a confirmed release date after all, in spite of its connection to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. We do know it will be coming out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
