The Final Fantasy 15 demo that was leaked earlier was confirmed at Tokyo Game Show. Along with it was the reveal of a new trailer.
The trailer sheds light on the story of the game, or at least a part of it. Prince Noctis is riding a car with his retainers, on what appears to be an extended roadtrip. Along the way, they stop to fight giants, knights, underground creatures, and the like. It is heavily implied that the trip is for Noctis to meet his friend Stella, and the path is simply fraught with peril. It may be the case that the whole road trip would be the content of the demo.
It was also revealed that Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura has handed over the reigns for heading Final Fantasy 15 to his co-director Hajime Tabata. Nomura will be moving on to work full-time on Kingdom Hearts 3, although he will also be involved in other unnamed titles.
Square Enix also revealed that Nomura’s role for Final Fantasy 15 up until now has been to lay out the story for the game, as well as to define the details of the characters and the game world.
The Final Fantasy 15 demo will be released March 2015 as a bonus for buying Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. It will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
