Sledgehammer Games has unveiled a new multiplayer mode in its upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Titled “Momentum,” the new mode is inspired by Call of Duty: World at War’s “War” mode.
The video, courtesy of IGN, offers commentary from Sledgehammer Games’ lead multiplayer designer Greg Reisdorf, who talks about the reason for bringing Momentum back into the series and exactly how it plays.
For those wondering how it works, or prefer to read about it instead of watching the 7-minute long video explaining the mode, Momentum is basically Domination, except all of the map’s capture points are placed in a straight line. The match in the provided example is played on the “Retreat” map, which has a total of five capture points.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is dated for a November 4 release on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The game is not coming to the Nintendo Wii U.
