Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Mage Abilities Teased

September 10, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here’s a snippet of the mage abilities in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

The official Dragon Age: Inquisition account on Twitter has published yet another image, this time showcasing the game’s Mage abilities.

Mages are one of the game’s three main classes (not including the subclasses that allow players to further define their playstyle) alongside Warriors and Rogues. As with the other classes in the game, the Mage can get their spells from several spell trees. In the case of the Mage, their abilities come under different elemental distinctions.

Here’s a very tiny selection of what’s in store with the Mage’s abilities:

  • Flashfire – You ignite an enemy with searing pain and send them fleeing in panic.
  • Winter’s Grasp – You lock a target in a sheet of ice, freezing it in place.
  • Mind Blast – You send enemies staggering with an explosion of willpower that drives them back and makes them less likely to target you again.
  • Lightning Bolt – you summon a bolt of lightning that blasts and paralyzes a single target. If other enemies are nearby, the bolt will paralyze the target for longer.

Not bad. Four different elemental schools, four different colors.

Dragon Age: Inquisition comes out on November 18, 2014 for the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
