Tales of Arise Opening Footage Officially Unveiled

July 6, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

Check out the opener right here.

When it comes to the Tales franchise it’s one that’s been around for ages. It’s a JRPG that has a following but it’s one that didn’t quite break through too significantly in various markets compared to the likes of Final Fantasy or Dragon’s Quest. Regardless, it’s still a solid video game franchise that has a large group of players eager to dive into the latest installments. The previous mainline entry installment might have been the biggest in general with more adopters finding this IP.

After the release of Tales of Berseria, the developers went to work with Tales of Arise. This new installment is set to launch into the market in September of this year. We are still waiting for the game to get some of those finer details but it looks like the developers went back to deliver a bigger project that will appeal to newcomers along with veteran fans alike. With Tales of Arise, we know that the game is centered around two types of people set on two planets. With one planet being advanced in technology and enslaving the inferior planet for resources, it looks like the narrative will pin two characters together, one from each planet.

What their journey will entail and the characters they’ll meet along the way are to be seen. If you’re familiar with the previous video game installments, you’ll know that this series is known for delivering a party to help you out during the journey. For now, several of those finer details have yet to be unveiled to us. Although, what we have now is the opening cinematic for the Tales of Arise installment which you can view above.

The Tales of Arise opener does provide us a look at the main protagonists along with some of the cast of characters we’ll also get to meet along the way. Overall, the entire footage is cinematic so you don’t get to see gameplay, but we do have some pretty interesting battles unfolding which you’ll likely get to handle in-game. As mentioned, Tales of Arise is coming out this September 10, 2021, for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
