Everybody is all excited for the impending release of Bayonetta 2, but there is another Wii U-exclusive PlatinumGames title that many people may have forgotten about by now: The Wonderful 101. It may not have set the sales charts on fire, but those who sunk their teeth into it enjoyed a very succulent meal. September 15 will mark the one-year anniversary of the game's North America release, and Platinum would like to celebrate by making available the official soundtrack!
The game's outspoken director, Hideki Kamiya, made the announcment in a blog post yesterday. There will be 127 tracks in total, enough to fill five CDs, split across two volumes priced at $10 apiece. They'll become available digitally on iTunes and Sumthing beginning September 15.
Platinum apparently has gone all out to make this soundtrack something extra special, remastering each song and even giving proper conclusions to songs that looped in-game. To demonstrate the team's dedication, they actually established a music label just so they could make this release possible! But you know… now that Platinum has a music label, perhaps we should pester everyone at the company to release soundtracks for all their back catalog, from MadWorld to of course Bayonetta!
The official soundtrack to The Wonderful 101 arrives on iTunes and Sumthing on September 15.
