Only three days remain until Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS launches in Japan. To get the populace properly excited, Nintendo has finally released a public demo over the eShop. Director Masahiro Sakurai shared the good news today on Miiverse.
There are tight restrictions on the demo — only five characters are playable, you can only selet the Smash mode, Battlefield is the only available stage, and multiplayer is restricted to local wireless. On the upside, you'll get to mess around with a selection of items and assist trophies. As for the characters, you can choose among Mario, Pikachu, Link, Villager, and Mega Man. On a personal note, I'm so happy that Mega Man is being treated like a full-on Nintendo veteran.
For American players, Sakurai assured that an English demo is on its way as well. Additionally, there is another available menu option in the demo called "Tips," which lets you read gameplay hints and other nuggets in a typical "Tip of the Day" format.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be out in North America on October 3. The Wii U version will arrive in winter.
