Super Smash Bros. 4: Japanese Commercial Knocks It Out of the Park

September 3, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Literally.

We still have a month to go before Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS arrives in the States, but Japan will be able to get their smash on in just under two weeks. That means televisions across the island have begun airing commercials for the portable party fighter, such as the one above.

It's a pretty funny commercial too. The game is so immersive that players physically feel the effects of a knockout — it's a good thing that everyone was playing outside, because I would hate the imagine the level of property damage incurred by being sent flying from inside the home! It of course doesn't stand on the same level as the legendary "Happy Together" commercial for the original Smash, but it's great nonetheless.

There were two previous Japanese Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS commercials, which are simple gameplay montages. Check them out below. Then, check the game when it arrives in the US on October 3. The Wii U version will show up later in the year.
