Pokemon X & Y: New Online Competition Is for Fairies Only

September 2, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Sign-ups run September 18-25, competition runs September 26-28.

Late last week, The Pokemon Company announced yet another online competition for players still rocking their copies of Pokemon X & Y on 3DS. In the Fairy-Face Off, you'll pit a team of you favorite Fairy-type Pokemon, all automatically set to Level 30, against other Fairies in single battles. Your critters don't have to be pure Fairies — they can be dual types if you want. The only Pokemon you won't be allowed to use are Xerneas and Diancie.

If you want to join, you'll first need to be a member of the Pokemon Trainer Club. Sign-ups will then run from September 18 though 25, followed by the competition itself which runs from September 26 through 28. Just for joining, you'll receive 1000 Poke Miles, but be aware that participation is limited to 50,000 players. Read the full set of rules here.

Pokemon X & Y is currently available for 3DS and 2DS. Also be on the lookout for Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, on track for a November 21 release.
