Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which was just announced today, isn’t the only title belonging to the long-running survival horror series of games that’s coming out next year. The original Resident Evil—the game that started it all—is being remastered for last-gen and new-gen consoles. It’s also coming out in 2015.
Resident Evil HD Remastered (that’s the full title) will be coming out for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
The game’s first trailer surfaced today at, showcasing its 1080p visuals. It’s also purported to feature 5.1 surround sound audio, for gamers who like hearing footsteps behind them in creepy survival horror games.
Interestingly enough, players will be able to pick between the game’s original 4:1 display ratio, or switch it to a new HD 16:9 ratio. Additionally, players will be able to control the game through its classic control style—replete with movement hiccups and all, or play it as a modern game with modern controls.
The game is developed by Capcom Production Studio 4, and is based on the 2002 Resident Evil remake.
