Pre-Alpha Gameplay Footage Officially Uploaded For Upcoming science-fiction Adventure Game Scars Above

During E3 2021 we didn’t get the usual in-person event with the variety of conferences that we’re used to seeing. Instead, we’re still dealing with the pandemic and it prompted plenty of streams to take place instead. As a result, leading up to E3 2021 and during, we had plenty of video game announcements, trailers, and updates. For instance, one of the new upcoming titles from Mad Head Games is Scars Above.

This is a game being published by Prime Matter which is attached to Koch Media. We didn’t get much information about the title when it was first announced, but overall Scars Above sounded quite a bit like Returnal, a PlayStation 5 exclusive game that’s currently available. In this game, players would be taking the role of a female named Kate Ward who is an astronaut that was stuck on some unusual alien planet, filled with hostile enemies. However, it looked like it was going to blend the action-adventure gameplay with a science-fiction backdrop and today you can get a better look at how the game will play out.

We’re still a bit light on the details for the game as it’s not slated to release until sometime next year, 2022. With that said, you can get a look at the game at its current build setup right now from the video embedded above. Here we are given more insight into the game world, the character design, and even some of the gameplay mechanics. Still, there’s plenty of cuts made throughout so don’t expect a single long clip.

Instead, this is about nine minutes of different montage gameplay scenes with the protagonist exploring the area, solving some puzzles, and fighting off the alien creatures that pop up. At the very least, this is some gameplay footage you can check out if you were interested in the video game when it was first unveiled to the masses earlier this month.
